I was strolling down the beach, fretting about a situation and a relationship, when a bee stung me on the heel. It hurt and I began to limp. I thought about how difficult it was going to be to get to my husband who was sitting on the sand about a half-mile down the beach.
After I made sure the stinger was out, I kept walking at my normal pace while the waves rushed over my feet. I felt much better, and that's when this insight popped into my mind:
Looking back, I can see that this experience is also a metaphor of what to do when life stings us. We should take care of ourselves (remove that stinger), keep moving, and let spiritual comfort and guidance flow in.
